Wadhurst Manor: Yoga Unites the Community

Wadhurst Manor Care Home has opened its doors to the local community with an exciting new initiative: the 'Yoga for the Community' programme. This delightful monthly event invites residents and locals to come together for seated yoga sessions, making it accessible to all ages and abilities.

Led by the talented yoga teacher Lou Murphy, participants are introduced to a variety of practices including Pranayama (breathing exercises), Asanas (physical postures), Mudras (hand gestures), and Dhyana (meditation). A highlight of the session is the playful 'yoga for the face', where participants engage in Lion’s Breath exercises by sticking out their tongues and waggling their eyebrows. This not only boosts energy levels but also fills the room with laughter, lifting spirits and enhancing mood.

The next session is scheduled for Friday, 5th December at 3.45pm. Attendees can look forward to a warm drink and delicious homemade cakes, the perfect remedy for the winter blues. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with others, enjoy some light exercise, and indulge in a sweet treat.

Wadhurst is a charming town with a vibrant community spirit, and initiatives like this yoga programme are a testament to its welcoming nature.
