Sussex Brews Shine at Indie Beer Awards

Raise your glasses, Sussex! Our local breweries have made us proud at the Indie Beer Awards 2025, with five of them taking home top prizes. The awards, organised by the Society of Independent Brewers and Associates (SIBA), celebrate the best in independent craft beer, and Sussex brewers have certainly made their mark.

Leading the charge is Burning Sky from Firle, which snagged two category champion awards. Their Petite and Robust Porter were crowned the best in their respective categories, proving that good things come in small (and robust) packages. Not to be outdone, Gun Brewery from Heathfield also claimed two golds, with their Base Ejection and How's The Serenity? beers impressing the judges.

Long Man Brewery in the Cuckmere Valley took the top spot in the Session Pale Ale category with their Long Man Pale Ale, while Firebird Brewing in Rudgwick wowed with their Table Manners, a non-alcoholic brew that proves you don't need alcohol to enjoy a quality beer.

Brighton's Loud Shirt Brewery strutted its stuff with three awards, including a gold for their Silhouette, a session pale ale that's sure to be a crowd-pleaser.

These awards are judged by a panel of expert beer judges, sommeliers, and industry professionals, ensuring that only the finest brews receive accolades. With Christmas around the corner, why not support your local brewers and treat yourself to a champion beer?

And if you're thinking of moving closer to these award-winning breweries, we at Burnett's are here to help you find the perfect home in Sussex. Cheers to that!
