Welcome to South Downs Sauna Lewes, a serene oasis designed to nurture wellbeing through the simple yet profound ritual of heat and stillness.

Nestled within a charming woodland near the South Downs Way, this sauna promises a unique experience. Picture this: a Finnish wood barrel sauna, a secluded outdoor area with a refreshing drench bucket, a copper shower, and a cosy firepit under a canopy of trees. It’s a haven for those who cherish the great outdoors.

At the heart of this experience is the art of löyly—rising steam from hot stones—enhanced with organic aromatherapy. Traditional rituals like salt inhalations and gentle whisking with birch or oak branches add to the sensory delight. After your sauna session, unwind with a hot or cold drink around the firepit, soaking in the stunning views of the rolling South Downs.

Co-founded by Anni Townend and Simone Thorn, the sauna is a testament to their love for the area. They aim to create a magical space that fosters community connection, with events like storytelling workshops and seasonal celebrations.

Opening on 27 April 2026, the sauna offers community sessions and private hire options. To celebrate the launch, enjoy a special rate of £15 per person for community saunas from 27 April to 9 May.
