Eastbourne Nail-a-thon: 24 Hours of Care
Charlie Wilkinson, a dedicated Eastbourne nail technician, is hosting a 24-hour 'nail-a-thon' in memory of her late father. This heartfelt event begins at 10am on Saturday, April 18, and will run continuously until 10am the following day. All proceeds will benefit the British Heart Foundation, a charity close to Charlie's heart due to her father's passing from an undiagnosed heart condition in 2024.
Charlie, the owner of Nails by Charlie Jade, has expressed how her father's passing deeply affected her life. She wanted to create a tribute that felt significant and personal. Supporting the British Heart Foundation seemed like the best choice, especially considering her father's diabetes and its connection to heart health.
In addition to the nail-a-thon, Charlie is organising a raffle with prizes valued at over £2,500. The local community's support has been overwhelming, with friends, clients, and small businesses rallying behind her cause. She feels incredibly grateful for the community's backing.
While the challenge is daunting, with her longest previous workday being 12 hours, Charlie remains optimistic. Although she feels a bit apprehensive about the unknown, she believes that once she starts, she'll find her rhythm.
For those interested in supporting Charlie’s cause, donations can be made at her JustGiving page. This event not only highlights community spirit but also the importance of supporting vital research and education in heart health.
