East Sussex Gym Upgraded

The popular Portslade Sports Centre gym has received a fabulous facelift, and we couldn't be more thrilled for the local community! Officially opened by the Mayor of Brighton & Hove, Amanda Grimshaw, this ambitious project has seen the gym almost double in size. With upgraded flooring and improved audio, visual, and sound systems, the gym is now a top-notch facility for fitness enthusiasts.

Funded through section 106 money and investment from Freedom Leisure, the refurbishment is part of Brighton & Hove City Council’s Sports Facilities Investment Plan. This initiative aims to enhance sports facilities across the city, providing residents with ample opportunities to get active and stay healthy.

The newly revamped gym opened its doors in late December, inviting locals to embark on a fresh health and fitness journey. Councillor Grimshaw expressed her excitement at the opening ceremony, highlighting the gym’s expansion and its capacity to accommodate a wide range of ages and abilities. Students from Portslade Aldridge Community Academy were among the first to explore the new equipment, adding to the community spirit.

Jason Musk, Freedom Leisure's area manager, praised the refurbishment as a shining example of strong partnership working. He is eager to welcome residents from Portslade and Hove to enjoy one of the region’s leading fitness venues.

With such fantastic facilities available, why not kickstart your fitness routine at Portslade Sports Centre? And if you’re considering a move to the area, we at Burnett's are here to help you find the perfect home to complement your active lifestyle!
