Discover Shoreham's Lavender Fields Delight
As the sun graces us with its warmth, it's the perfect time to explore the great outdoors and embrace the beauty of summer. While Kent is renowned for its lush green spaces, sometimes a unique experience is just what we need. Enter Castle Farm, a hidden gem just outside Sevenoaks in the charming village of Shoreham.
From mid-June through to the end of July, this enchanting location transforms into a sea of purple, offering visitors an idyllic escape. Spanning over 1,000 acres, Castle Farm is the largest lavender site in Britain, cherished by locals and tourists alike. It's a must-visit during the summer months, providing a tranquil haven of aromatic blooms.
The Castle Farm Shop is open year-round, but the real magic happens when the lavender is in full bloom. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the vibrant colours and intoxicating fragrance. Owned by the same family for over a century, the farm's lavender fields were established around 20 years ago by William and Caroline Alexander. Their daughter, Lorna Roberts, shares, "We love seeing visitors enjoying the beautiful views and learning the story behind our lavender."
Castle Farm offers various ways to experience its lavender fields. Whether you prefer a leisurely stroll through the Walks Field, a picnic in the 'Ladybird' Lavender Field, or a guided tour, there's something for everyone. Bookings for the 2026 season are now open, with tickets and event calendars available from March and June.
