Discover Folkestone's New Beach Spa Haven
The UK’s largest beach spa is coming to Folkestone Harbour Arm this March, promising to transform the area into a wellness paradise. Operated by Sea Scrub Sauna, this ambitious project will introduce Scandinavian heat-and-cold therapy to the Kent coast, making it the largest facility of its kind in the country.
Nestled directly on the shingle beach, the spa will feature two wood-fired saunas, a hot tub with jacuzzi, two chilled plunge pools, and traditional bucket showers for an invigorating cold-water therapy experience. Additionally, a new wellness café and a dedicated event space for yoga and moon ceremonies will enhance your visit.
Robin Bartlett, co-founder of Sea Scrub Sauna and an RNLI volunteer, expressed his excitement about the March opening. With successful sites already in Margate and Whitstable, he notes, “Wild swimming and beach sauna culture are no longer niche; they’re becoming a way of life.” This new venture marks a significant milestone for the brand, bringing their largest and most expansive site to the Kent coast.
Paulo Kingston-Correia, general manager at Folkestone Harbour Arm, shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It adds a completely new wellness dimension to our already vibrant mix.” The spa is designed to be enjoyed year-round, particularly in the colder months, offering a unique retreat for locals and visitors alike.
Sessions will start from just £17 per hour, with a full programme of solstice and full moon events to be announced soon.
